This beautiful voluntary was written for my friend, Tabernacle Organist emeritus John Longhurst, who played the debut performance. It is should be accessible to any intermediate organist or above. As an organ solo, it starts quiet and ends with a bang! But you can vary the registration to make it suitable for use as prelude or postlude. I have played it on one of my recitals in the Salt Lake Tabernacle near Independence Day, but it’s perfect for any patriotic event.

OPTIONAL CHANGE: After publication, the quarter note chime on G on beat 2 in measure 28 was changed to D above middle C. Make this change on your score if you want to.
